So Im downgrading after having 125 for last 6 years. It was really hard decision. So I want too set up my new 40 breeder and I read a lot about different kinds of overflow system. I decided to do " Bean Animal overflow" That required to drill 3 holes on back wall. Never done that before. I goess I was to exited and nervous at the same time. I drilled 3 -1" holes. But I think I screwed up [IMG]. Do you think I drilled them to close to each other? I drilled 1 3/4 holes. The distance between each edge of the hole is 1 1/2". Is that ok or it is too close? O man Im so ****ed now. What was I thinking???? Now Im afraid that I messed up structure and glass won't be strong enough. Let me know, please. Is it my project done already.. And I need to buy new tank?

If the bulkheads fit I can not see it being an issue as the integrity is enforced with the bulkhead itself. Sure a little more room would have been good. Most bulkheads I have seen are not that much further apart.

And secondly…. I count on you guys, let me know, please
This is my plumbing. I'm looking for any suggestions, please. I have time so I can change all that. That tee should be clean out tee but I can't find in the store. But probably I can find one online if it is a must. Also do I really need unions? Should I change that ball sit off to regular with knob? This ball valves are hard to adjust. Let me know , please. This one is Syphon. The Emergency will have elbow turn up. Open channel will have small hose attached on top of tee… also are those bulkheads are ok or should I get higher quality. Thanks for all help.

From what i understand, silicone doesn't adhere to acrylic so i would go with glass.

You will be the happiest person in the world if you put union valves in the line and ever have to take them apart. I wish i had used more of them.

With the picture of the plumbing, i am not sure what is happening coming out of bulkhead on the dry side. Maybe take that apart and snap another picture.

Ball valves are a pain to turn when they have pressure on then or when they get old. I bought a gate valve to dial back my old pump.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the bulkhead, but i am no plumbing professional.

Thank you so much for all help. And for looking closely in my pic's. Yes I went harder way and bought PVC piece with that goes over Bulkhead ( 1-st pic, ) but I can just use 1" pipe and slip it into Bulkhead and to tee on other end, right? ( 2-nd pic). And lastly, are these tees fine just strait I mean not like clean out tees that has little arch for water to drain easier. (I looked everywhere in stores and online and they don't have them in 1" size. It starts form 1 1/2") :(
