So the 20 gallon high sump started leaking. Picked up a 29 gallon since the LFS had no 20 gallon longs and it was a dollar per gallon sale.

What do you all think of these dimenisons and layout for baffles/etc.?

Also, I cannot find a local glass cutter for the life of me. All other places i can find only carry 1.8" glass and not 1/4"......

If i cant find any glass at a decent price around I might just end up getting 1/4" plexiglass from Lowes and score cut it myself.... Will just have to take some 1"x1" pieces and "dam" the baffles in place.

Seems like should work. How are your drains coming in?? Also on glass baffles you want a small gap between the baffle and the side of the tank so silicone can get in there between the 2 pieces to get the best seal.

I have the exact same sump size and set up. I used acrylic baffles and was very liberal with the silicone to make sure they stayed in place. Overall I was very happy with how it came out.

Except my baffles are 10" high. So I've got a nice amount of room available for back flow when pumps are off. But I'm sure you'd be fine with your measurements too.

I was hoping to supply the regufium with a T off of the return pump. I have heard that you never want to restrict the drain of hte overflow. When I tried a T at the bottom of my overflow a while back it wasnt draining correctly, so now I use all 45 degree fittings.

I know this thread is almost a year old, but I am wondering what ever came of your drain setup. I am setting up a 29 gallon sump for my 65 gallon tank, and I was going to T off of both my 1 inch drain lines.

The Ts I am using are 1" x 1 1/2" x 1 1/2". I know I can not T two 1 inch lines to a 1 inch T or there will be back flow issues. Technically, two 1" Drains should feed to a 2 " line, but I think 1 1/2" should be enough in my case.

Now someone please reply so I don't look stupid for posting to a dead thread. :dead:
