Hey all, my corals in my 12 gallon salt-water reef tank are looking poor, especially my zoanthids (I hope I am spelling that right). I am a bit of a n00b at salt water reef tanks (or fish tanks in general) so I am not exactly sure what to look for. One of my 3 light bulbs was looking a bit dim (but it was dim to begin with). I tested for that by putting a big construction light to shine on it. No beans... My salinity is at 28 or 1.021 (one is ppm I think). My water temperature is around 70 degreed Fahrenheit. I also have some green alge (I think) growing in my tank, I don't know if that is the cause. I am using some anti-algae stuff for it as well. I have a Marineland C-160 canister filter, a power head, and a broken thermometer. I have images below:

You need to get your salinity up..... and temp IMO...

Im a little confused as to what your asking here... however, temperature should be 76-82, pH 8.2, calcium 420ppm, salinity 1.025 or 35, mag 1300, ammonia 0, nitrite 0...

As far as making your corals look nicer, do you know what type of lights you have? Maybe read some sticky threads on here to help you out, they are really informative

I just need to know why my Zoanthids are shriving up, it has been getting worse each day. Today, I had to put the construction light there just to get my corals to open up.

Raise temp to about 79 degrees. Raise salinity to about 1.025. How old are your bulbs and what type of lighting do you use?

Also, buy test kits to test your water. Your pH, DKH, and other parameters may be off. We can't tell you what to do properly without this information.

Please get a test kit for testing water quality.

It can be safely assumed that your PO4, and NO3 are a bit over ideal with the GHA growth. Raise basal tank temperature, and salinity.
