Dude, what are your water parameters? ph, alkalinity, calcium, magnesium, amonia, nitrate and salinity?

I've noticed you have several threads going with different problems. The algae issue could be excessive nutrients which after a while can cause a real problem with amonia and nitrates.

Give us the specs and the parameters of your water, they we can all look at it and start the elimination process to see what is and what isn't.

you never know with those emerald crabs... one of my friends had a emerald crab that enjoyed eating kenya trees ha ha your problem doesn't seem to be any parameter problems. Keep a close eye on that emerald crab

Parameters are all within acceptable ranges. It would lean towards a parasite of some sort like a nudi as mentioned by oceanparadise or a worm. I once has a strange incident where amphipods were eating my zoas. They eventually stopped and I assumed the zoas were somehow sick or dying. Check at night.

I recently had a problem with my zoas and it was zoa pox. You may do a google search and see what you think. It lasted for about a month with no treatment it took my colony of 50+ polyps down to 2. now the two have multiplied to 12 and are spreading once again.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
This is a good point, but pox usually makes them stay closed and not open at all.

Even though you phosphates are 0 the phosphates are probably all locked up in that algae. I would for sure run some GFO.

And I would look for a quality dip and dip those babies.
