Wrasse suddenly has large spots on one side

Hi guys, I posted this on another forum but figured I would get the advice of our resident experts as well.

This fish is new to me. It was introduced into my tank 5 days ago. He's been eating voraciously, both the mysis I've been feeding 3 times per day as well as pellet food. Today, large spots appeared on one side of his body. Are these spots from a disease, aggression from another fish, or abrasion from possible panicking in rock work? My complete neophyte analysis is that it looks like an injury more than an illness. I does not appear to be anything like the symptoms I've read about for ich.

You can see that one side is ok, but the other side doesn't look so good.

 

Looks physical to me too, be it from another fish or the rock work. I'd lean more towards self inflicted unless you have another wrasse in there.

 

I had my new angel look like thst too and he ran between some rocks at one point. He looked better about couple days later

 

Probably not another fish because I haven't seen any hostility. He does like to dart rather spastically between rocks, so I wouldn't be surprised it it was self inflicted. I checked on the fish today and he already looks better.

 

I have 2 Paracheilinus, a Cirrhilabrus and a Halichoeres. They all seem to get a similar spot once in a while. I've never seen 3, but they go away within a day or two. I think the spots are accidental scratches from the rocks.

 

I agree, definitely physical wounds. Should heal fine after a few days. That's a beautiful fish.
