I agree--great book. Two other good ones are The Conscientious Marine Aquarist by Robert Fenner, and The New Marine Aquarium by Mike Palletta. Hope this helps!;D

I wouldn't use this one for a reef aquarium, it is great for a FOWLR or fish only, but it doesn't do into reefs really at all.

Best $ I ever spent on a book was for:

    "Ultimate Marine Aquariums"
Saltwater Dream Systems and How They Are Created
    By Michael S. Paletta

    Amazon.com
    (24 used & new available from $15.13)

Not only a good "dream" book with lots of "eye candy"...but has history, stats, maint rqmts, etc for 50+ aquariums ranging from nano's to "mega"

Great reference to see how others build and maintain systems. Excellent for beginners and "experienced"

Thanks for the tip re "Ultimate Marine Aquariums"

The Reef Aquarium Science Art and Technology is $75-80 at LFS or Barnes and Noble but I just ordered a copy from Amazon for $56.67 w/ free shippping. It's scheduled to arrive tomorrow along with the first 2 volumes of this series.

I'll be interested to see how these differ from my old SW 'bible' by Martin Moe.
