Sparky, I'm sooo sorry that you are still having trouble. I hope that when you get the sand changed that all your problems will disappear---sorry about your fish.

So for all those keeping track--this weekend will conclude the changeover. Hopefully.

I've had the 55 running alongside the 90 for maybe two months now. The corals are fine, and all the fish except the powder blue tang have been moved to the 55 as well. The latest revelation after having taken every grain of sand out of the 90, was to move one coral to the 90 for a test run.

Immediately after introduction, the GSP closed up and stayed that way for 2 days in the 90. I moved him back into the 55, where he's once again fine.

Some time ago, I bought a Little Giant inline (external) pump for the 90. The issue was, I wanted to really remove EVERY variable from the equation. So I decided to do away with the homemade sump/fuge, and go back to a regular sump. I've decided to go back to mechanical filtration too (something I had done away with completely after some reading). I'm going to use my old All-Glass Wet/Dry, but with but a handfull of bioballs at most. I'm also going to dremel out the last baffle for the return chamber to accomodate my large Coralife 220 protein skimmer. I'll drill a hole in the right side for a bulkhead to employ my external return pump. It'll be easier to see with pics than to explain here.

I'll keep everyone posted with pics.

Here's "Old Reliable," and a pic of the tool I'll use to trim ol' reliable to size so he'll accomodate my skimmer.

I'll take 'em! I'll let you know when I'm ready for them.

That's a very nice offer. :) Karma to ya. I won't take them unless you let me pay something for them. :)

Well, paying for shipping goes without saying! I wouldn't mind paying something for the frags too. It will be probably a few weeks until everything is up to par on my end. Don't go anywhere!! :)
