Looks good! I've never seen one like that before. I'm sure it will love the new light you bought too! :D

It's weird but they will get used to the fish and know they won't nip at it. Mine reacts NONE to the fish now. My male maroon will even rub on it and it won't retract. If I move the light slightly or cross my hand over the light, BAM it snaps shut. I try not to do that though, it stressed the clam out when it has to close up.

Read that and laughed. My yellow watchman goby actually perches on my big squammies shell and sometimes on the mantle  I worried at first but the clam is growing like crazy and happy as..well...a clam :)

this is a Dum question, but you dip it in fresh RO/distilled water with nothing added right?
and the clam will live after being in fresh water for 15 min ?
i know its a Dum question but i plan on getting a clam in a few week and need to know all i can about them

No, the pH of RO/DI water alone would be close to 7.0, and you need the pH of your fresh water to be the same as your tank (around 8.0-8.4). You can achieve this by adding baking soda to the water and measuring the pH until you get it to the correct level.

Checking in, how is the clam adapting to the tank? :)
