    Hi Everyone!
About a month ago I purchased a domino damsel from my LFS. The second that I got home, I placed him in the 10 gallon QT Tank. I always QT my fish for two weeks. The first week, everything was fine. Than all of a sudden he got a bad case of ich. This was surprising to me as usually if they are going to get ich, it's within a few days. After a week of ich treatment, the damsel recovered. Even though he was ich free, he started to loose his color (See photo). Now this is where I'm confused and need help. Once a week or so, he will refuse to eat. It always happens at night. He will be laying on his side on the sand bed, breathing hard, and floating in the current. This has been happening for a month. Every time I see him like this, I assume that he is dying. To my surprise, every morning he is swimming around and eating again. Any ideas? He's been in the QT for a month plus now. I would love to add him to my 75 gallon soon. I don't understand how he can go from being on his death bed to being fine the next morning.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
That almost looks more like Brookynella than Marine Ich. These parasite inhabits gills causing damage.

What Ich Treatment did you use?

    or velvet :(

just read up on brook - that sounds like the more likely since velvet does kill pretty rapidly and the behavior the op describes totally fits brook.
