    Personally, I would err on the side of caution and use the 35 ppt fluid anyway. Refractometers are great for fine-tuning any formula, but should be calibrated at or near the target level for best accuracy.

    I used my calibration fluid on the lights I usually use. Spot on.

    Mine didn't come with calibration fluid. The instructions only say to use 0 tds water. Do you guys think it would be best for me to buy some calibration fluid? If so, how do i know what the right stuff to buy is?

    Any calibration fluid is good. It's basically saltwater that's 35ppt to calibrate accurately. I got some yesterday and realized my refractometor was off but not by much compared to 0 tds water. Mine said to only use ro but I'm glad I bought the calibration fluid. Thanks again reefers
