    Kordon Ich Attack

    HI,
well after I read about the danger of ick treatmentsI noticed my tang had ick as does my tomato pair.. SO off i go to my favorite PHD/LFS and said waht would you do, He said try natural treatment avoid heavy metals and he said he's had some success that Korodm ICh Attack after a fresh water bath, SO I did the bath di water 5 mins the fish seemed really perky after it was all said and done and the ick seemed to blow right off the fish in about 2 seconds after hitting the water, I did a full 5 mins to be sure.
I then added 32.5 mls of the Kordon Ich Attack he said its slow but it hasn't killed anything in his tanks to date, I ve read as much as I can about it and it seems to be like the Kent parasite treatment totally organic no metal, stains or posions.
So we will try this for a while I shut down the marineland filter with that phos guard due to we don't know if it will effect the meds so why risk a failed run.
No carbon, no resin based filters. I noticed the green alage really looked greener..
Hope it works every one seems cheery and the soup is chugging in the two skiimmers.
I wonder if I should pull them, better not,.

I used ich attack, it works but also causes a serious algae bloom.

pullout yee-olde scrapper and scrape away

    HI,
well I noticed its true it seems a wee bit green in the tank today, so all that organic good stuff loading up my tank with that extra bio load.
    Hope the skimmers keep up.
lets see I need around 35 mls to treat approx 65gals it should last 13.5 days. That should be the trick. I may bump up the heat a little to speed up the ick cycle see if we can waste those little buggars.
the down side may be the drop in o2 due to the bio load and increased temp,,,.
    decisions,? decisions,?

an update is in order, my invert have never looked better, the glass does get a little fuzzy every couple of day, my water quality is holding, and everyone appears to be ick free, I plan to keep using this stuff for an additional week, hey I may use it every time i purchase a fish as a precaution.
It really helps the skimmers churn , and my phos is staying down its barely detectable.

I am convinced if there was a bullet proof ICK treatment, we all would have known about it long before now.

I am going to have to go along with Tangster. 99% of cure, is prevention. Keeping fish healthy, not over/underfeeding, maintaining an optimum environment for them and not overcrowding.

Don't know if I have ever had ICK. My Coral Beauty in my main tank, and clowns in Nano, pick up little white parasites now and then (not often). They are usually around a day or so, then are gone.

I have added very, very few fish in last 4/5 years. And have always made sure they were maintained in a copper treated tank at lfs before bringing home.

I really think ICK is the least of my worries when it comes to fish diseases.

    :-/

Update on my attempts to cure ICK

    HI,
Well I have gone around the bend on ick and now believe its a symptom of stress not a fatal disease, I now beleive that adult fish are immune to ick and the best treatment is to feed lots of that green food specially the ones laced with garlic, it may not cure the ick but it may help the immune system to kick in and help the fish resist the ick spread. try and keep the water quality up, don't shock the system with meds it only disrupts the nitrogen cycle and may increase waste load.:p
Skimm the tanks increase water flow, My guess is the free swimming are slurped up by the skimmer.
water flow seem to help prevent that clown fish disease too.

All my older fish are ick free get one new guy and he will always come down with it for a week or two and then its ok. the ick is always there the fish are immune.
    Doug

hey maybe my aptasia in the sump reforguim is eating the free swimming ick..hehe

IT worked for me. make sure you take out carbon and turn of your protein skimmer and increase aeration. I bought Kordon Ich Attack. Here its cheaper on Amazon. This is a direct link to it: Click Here
