I can't even imagine how I'll ever pay for my kids college, my oldest grads in about 5 years.
When I went, it was a fraction of what it cost now- even at State schools.

Todd - you are so right! college costs have gotten so out of control - ohio university is a state school and tuition is about 10,000.00 a year - that is just tuition! living costs are another 10 at least at some schools - students are required to live on campus for one or two years. It's outside of the reach of middle class families and it shouldn't be that way. I probably went to school about the same time as you and it really did used to be affordable for middle income families. Hopefully, something will get fixed before your sons go to school! The student loan debt bubble is going to be the next one to burst.

thanks dsc! your daughter loves your excitement - I guarantee it! my youngest was a struggling reader and his grades were good - but not straight A's - just goes to show what hard work can accomplish - in any avenue in life!

I attended Missouri S&T for a summer semester. This school has a record for most alcohol consumed in one weekend. I unfortunately did not attend these festivities.

just an update, I went to look at the current rankings for party schools, and Ohio University wasn't in the top 10 - they last held that distinguished honor in 2012. There was a University of Wisconsin in the top 10
