So I've been on here daily following along with everyone else's breeding progress, hoping to help out and learn a little along the way and I realized I never really formally introduced myself to the community. So...

Hi... I'm Pickle. (there is story to the name - someday I'll have to tell it here)

Anyhow, I've been in tanks since the 80's, FOWLR since the early 90's, Reef tanks since '06 and breeding clowns for just over a year now. I guess you could say I've been attempting to breed clowns for over a year and just started successfully breeding them in March of this year.

The hobby just seemed to guide me in that direction as it was next challenge. I mean when I started reef tanks I went through all the usual steps - Softies and LPS then upgrading and more demanding corals then upgrading again and keeping SPS and more difficult to keep coral - till one day my pair of O's which have been with me since I set up my first reef tank in '06 spawned. When I saw the eggs I knew I had to learn how to raise the fry.

So I started a thread and doing research - lot of it. Countless hours of reading books and threads online. I was really fortunately to attract the attention of some of the most successful breeders in the states who openly and willingly gave me insight and advise. I am by no means an expert but I believe that this hobby is all about paying it forward.

There is already an awesome thread here on this site started by Tropical Addict http://www.3reef.com/forums/breeding-tropical-fish/clownfish-laid-eggs-fry-raising-journal-update-4-1-11-a-103318.html that I've been following here for a little while now and thought it would be cool if I posted some of my progress here as well.

Anyhow, I still have that original pair but I've moved on to breeding Snowflakes.

Here is the pair that got it all started for me:

And some of the luck that I've had.

It's amazing how early you can pic the snowflakes out:

Anyhow - that's it in a nutshell. I'll be hanging out and following along some your threads and the progress of other breeders here on 3reef. It's been great meeting you all!

    Thank you both..

You know Doyle - I have no idea where they are getting the cool side burns from. My pair in my brood stock don't have them and I have never seen their parents but I'm glad the babies have them!

I'm just curious to see if they will color up like my male and lean towards the black ice side.
