so I've finally got enough corals NPS corals that I have to start feeding it phyto...

i'm new to this, so my question is, when i'm feeding the tank, should I turn the skimmer off? I don't want all of it to get instantly skimmed off. also- wavemakers, on or off?

I am interested in these answers.
Have no thoughts on the skimmer but good question!

    Wavemaker.....
I may totally be wrong but the ocean does not stop moving(unless in slack tide). So I would think(only my opinion) is that there wouldn't be a need to turn them off.
When I broadcast feed my tank at most I will turn off the return for 15 minutes or so. If I target feed I turn everything off.

Ideally you would want the skimmer and mechanical filtration off.It is easier to target feed with low/no flow.Broadcast feeding would of course need enough flow to hold it in suspension where it can be captured.
