Photo Challenge #1 Best Fish Picture

ok, I'm going out on a limb and getting the ball rolling on a photo contest.
The first contest is "Your best fish photo".

Rules:
1. Can be taken with any type of camera, cell, P&S, DSLR, etc.
2. Has to be taken from today until the contest ends, no previous pictures. (I will use metadata to verify)
3. Contest ends May 31st
4. One picture per entry per person
5. picture height less than 400 pixels to keep some consistency and avoid really large pictures. Width will be determined by height, no requirement.

The first item I'm bring up is prizes. Right now, you will get an internet high 5 from me if you win! I do not have anything for prizes other than bragging rights.

I am not going to judge the pictures. I'm going to ask for some volunteers to judge to get the top 3. Then I will put up a poll for everyone to vote on the top 3 pictures from the contest. I would ask that the judges are not to be part of the contest. If I do not get any volunteers, I will pick random active users that did not participate to judge the top 3. If you would like to volunteer, send me a pm.

I use imgur: the simple image sharer for all of my photos on here. You can drag and drop pictures from your folder to the webpage and it will prompt you to upload; easy as pie. I would like to see consistency, but if you are comfortable using something else to upload, that will be of no problem.

Please comment with any suggestions/questions. I will answer them to the best of my ability. Mods, if I have crossed a line or rule, please let me know and I will step back into line.

tough decision I just got some sick pictures of some of my fish. Learning alot more about my wife camera

but here is a nice 1 of my wrasse.. but probably should have chosen my clown.. wait till you see it in my 135 thread

 

My chappy phone camera can't compete.

 

Some of those phone camera are pretty nice.. Try to get a straight on pic though as pics from angles can distort the image. Plus they say to shut off pumps but I do not do that. Also do not use a tripod like the pros do.

I wish I could lower the fstop on my wife camera below 5.6 but seems that is as low as it goes. Was watching some videos on picture taking earlier today and then Zesty posted this and figured I would play around a little. I really need to do a little reading on her camera. I am sure I could get a lot better pictures.

Look at my clown pic in the thread.. though there was some real good detail.

Wow, the clown pics came out great chris.

 

If the camera is a DSLR then the lens controls the aperture (f-stop). If it a point and shoot then the focal length controls the aperture.

 

Good stuff 2in10 thanks. Will have to test with other lens.
