I had only had the API Phos.
The color scale goes from 0.0, the next is 0.25, etc.
    It always looked yellow=0.

I fellow reefer was over today getting Chaeto and some grags from me,
and hs happened ot his his Hanna checker!

He did the check and conversion, and had my system at

    0.0398...

    How is this?

does he have the low level hanna checker?

I have a hanna checker which has always read 0.. which I am not sure I believe. I do not think mine is the low level version

    I think/guess it is.
I thought he said it was phosphate- which he used a table and converted to phosphorus?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Anything below 0.05 ppm is supposedly good. That is actually a little too low for my liking.

Bob Goemans, from Saltcorner gave me this advice 1st hand (local) and the value has served me well.

Is yours the *phosphorus* ULR? It will say ppb instead of ppm.

If he has the ULR and you have the phoshpate (ppm), that likely explains why he is reading 0.03 ppm and yours is reading 0.0 ppm. You resolution isn't what his is.

Also, the reagents can vary, from what I read, giving false numbers.

I do not think you could visually discern the difference in color using naked eye and API test. At least I know I would not be able to

Basically .04. Sounds like youre tank is doing just fine. You are skimmer and refugium only?
Most likely that was the phosphorus checker converted to phosphate.

Ah, API, there is your problem. Throw that away or use it to prop up a table.

    0.039 phos. Is perfect.

    Thanks for the feedback everyone/all.

Yes, I knew my API was only telling me it was low, and not really 0.
    NOT very sensitive a system.

This is the first time mine has been checked with a Hanna,
and although not that suprised, I am very pleased.

Keep in mind the Hannah has a +/- accuracy of .04 ppm
