Before we run any more peroxide treatments id like to call out a couple detractors of the method who are against it from nano reef.com

We need to test the null hypothesis to see if there is a better way. Next problem tank, please hit me up here or in pm and i'm going to get two post hacks named igreen and hecticdialectics to show up and run alternate methods first.

Peroxide, or any method of infestation control, should only be used when nothing else works better

They will run a cure method to put up against spot peroxide and if its better we should discontinue using peroxide, will be a neat test. Even if you are using peroxide, save an area to cross test for comparison, let us know when you are ready

Nice!! Don't be concerned about that white/bare underneath the growth that was removed...new coralline will catch on soon enough now that real estate is open ~

I might pull it and do another treatment because I missed some that was entangled with the frag. Unless I can just manually remove it. I have to admit after 24hrs I thought it didn't do anything. Then at 48 I was amazed at how much was white/clear. I squirted it with a turkey baster and it just all blew off.

Great to hear. How did you apply it?

I pulled the rock out and stuck it on a lid of a bucket and used a 5 milliliter syringe and slowly dripped/squirted it all over the rock. Probably used about 4 or 5 syringes to cover most of the top side of the rock. The back and bottom were dark and didn't have any algae on it so I didn't bother to much with it. I also dribbled salt water over the coral when it looked like it was drying out. Then rinsed it in a bucket of water and put it back in my tank.

Pretty much all the algae is gone except for the bit around the base of the coral. And now aptaisia has begun to take over lol. Peroxide did nothing for that pest and might have made it spread more...just a thought.

    Thanks for info.

    Some more questions -

Did you dilute the peroxide or just shoot as is out of the syringe?
Also did you rinse in saltwater? I am wondering if I can just rinse in ro water.

I am doing a water change either tonight or tomorrow night and want to try this on 2 rocks I have that need it.

Going forward I think my fuge and raising pH may prevent this slime from showing up again. I hope...
