Patience (or forbearing) is the state of endurance under difficult circumstances, which can mean persevering in the face of delay or provocation without acting on annoyance/anger in a negative way; or exhibiting forbearance when under strain, especially when faced with longer-term difficulties. Patience is the level of endurance one can take before negativity. It is also used to refer to the character trait of being steadfast. Antonyms include hastiness and impetuousness.

I had to look it up, because I forgot what it is in this hobby!!!! There is so much great looking stuff out there, so much to do, so little time (and money)

    this is my Monday rant.

Well placed zesty. Seems like the antoyms are the common enemy of this hobby.

definition was straight from wiki :)

It's like it goes in phases, they are all good memories to remember back to the stepping stones to get coral growing and looking decent. Now I find myself in a lull where I don't want to mess with the tank aka get in there and mess around everyday, but I need to feed my reef-madness!

I think it also has to do with the apex I've had for almost a month and haven't gotten any closer to installing the dang thing. I kinda blew my tank budget buying it and I know I need some more equipment to get it installed. then it's learning how to use it...

I went home and stared at my reef for a while, then this morning I was doing the same with my cup o joe before work. Just feels like I'm in a stalemate, but at the same time, it's so enjoyable. haha!

for me not having the funds to just go out and buy everything I want is a good thing and a bad thing. if I could just get corals or equipment of course it would be awesome but I would probably go to fast. my money flow keeps me in check and actually is beneficial to my tank. at least that's what I keep telling myself.
    Patience..aka waiting for my check.

I'm kind of in that same spot zesty. Getting ready to go on vacation so don't want to add any livestock. I haven't added anything new in some time. I think I may try an sps when I get back. It's been a while since I gave that a try and am thinking I'd like to give it another go.

That's the spirit! Going out of the comfort zone is the only way to go! It seemed like whenever I tried a new type of coral, it would die and then the next one would be fine. It's the weirdest thing, but it also could be my memory failing. But I'm sure you can do it! There are some easier SPS out there to start with.

That and chalices, I have no room for their sweepers, but I have seemed to acquire 4 different chalices. They are so cool. One is a Hollywood stunner that is probably 6" in diameter by now. That guy has caused some damages in the tank, oh boy. haha! But now that I have a good spot for him, it keeps my blue clove polyps in check, haha!

I have blue clove. I have seen it take over every spot on my rock which I liked. And I've seen it nearly disappear. It is starting to make a come back in my 220 hope it does. It's a nice filler.

I think you will find coral like that have it's highs and lows. It can be stronger then ever then nearly disappear.
