I have a open brain that appears to be the same species as yours.. I have noticed that it likes low to medium flow and high lighting.... The Kessel should be enough as mine sits under LED's as well.... The second pic seems as if it's looking a little better. But as DSC stated stability is a must....

Water Update: The Calcium in my tank is around the 400 mark and the Alkinity is at 161.1. I think that the calcium is the problem. My LFS said that it could be the phosphates or nitrates. I dont think it is because i have othe lps such as my acans and they do fine. Plz help the skeleton is sarting to show

Why would you believe the calcium is the problem? What's your nitrates at?

All LPS use calcium, Large Polyp Stoney ..... Some coral are more sensitive to nitrates than others..... Have you tested your nitrates?

Some coral just don't do well in some tanks? My brain for example is loving life, but I couldn't get candy canes to grow for nothing..... Both LPS, that's how it goes sometimes....

Just because other LPS are doing fine doesn't mean anything. Some coral are more sensitive to chemistry swings than others. Your calcium is fine. What's your magnesium at and what's the DKH of your alkalinity? In my experience trachys have been more sensitive than acans as far as chemistry being off. Numbers are great but it's keeping them at the same number consistantly that's challenging.

Thanks so much for all the help. I tested both nitrates and phosphates and they were sky high. Im going tommrow to buy both nitrate remover and phosphate remover. I think this closes the case. Once again I really appreciate the help.
