MACO is proud to be in the final planning stages of a course, designed to teach aquarists how to get the best images of their systems. We might also be offering a weekend short course in the early summer, keep checking back for more details.

The course will begin in August/September (keep an eye on the website!) and last for 6 weeks.

Through interactive online learning, practical – hands on photography assignments and regular critiques of your images through your own student gallery on the MACO website; you will gain a through understanding of how to capture stunning photographs of aquarium environments and inhabitants.

During the course, you will learn about camera equipment & operation, lighting & electronic flash, macro photography, composition, and capturing clear & focused images. All in relation to photographing your aquarium.

We will examine a variety of techniques for photographing different kinds of subject matter, posing fish & other creatures, and how to best set up your aquarium for a photo shoot.

Basic digital imaging and computer manipulation of your photos and uses for them will also be talked about.

5% camera (don't need anything real fancy)

10% knowing camera & how different settings work under different conditions.

85% willingness to spend hours in front of tank hoping those guys in tank will sit still long enough for pic.

OK...you just had my photo course...:-/
