    my nitrate is HIGH REALLY REALLY HIGH anyway im doing a wateer change praticall while im postin..............so is there anything else to do only one fish has died

    change your filter media or pads too when was the last time you cleaned out filters and skimmer? Like a good clean? I would do a bunch of smaller(4-5 gal) water changes within the next few days. helps me

    Water changes are gonna be your best bet :-/
    BTW are you located near Philly? im near Allentown :)

    Have you checked you water source for nitrates?

    I agree, water changes and cleaning all your filter media. The other thing I would suggest is to relax. If you have only lost one fish and the rest of your livestock looks good, like your corals are all still opening up and your fish look well, then you are probably in no immediate danger. Also make sure your testing kit hasn't expired. You could be getting a false reading.

    At first glance I am going to guess you feed a lot since you have 12 fish. You also only have 40 to 50 LBS of LR, you should have 75 minimum. How often do you do water changes? What do you feed?

    i do water changes about every week.............half the tank so like whatever half of 75 is math not worried bout now!!! lol ugghhhhhhhhhhhh i ahvea 35 gallon with just fish in it and im thinking about putting my coral and fish in there?????? idk if i should do that if i do should i acclaimate?????

    AQUABOY yes i do live near philly about 30 minutes away maybe more

    feed them Freeze Dried brine shrimp and the tangs get some seaweed....... I cant find the expiration date on test kit, but when i test the other tank its fine. when i test mine the nitrate is in between .50 n 1.0...............got it down a little bit but its still high
