Alright I've had this coral for about a week or so now and here lately it has been slimming like crazy the past few days for no reason. I have no changed anything in the tank, no WC, no nothing. I did add a clean up crew from John but that wouldn't effect it.

It slimes sometimes, then I'll go look at it and it will be fine. Then I will be looking back in and boom looks like a little spider went crazy in there.

Any suggestions? Does this mean it is in trouble/dying?

    Thanks.

It means something is irritating it. I have a green slimer and if I get near it it will slime, but it always stops pretty quickly. Some must either by physically pestering it or there is something in your tank that is such as water chemistry etc.

Make sure you don't have any sofies upstream from the coral. Maybe give it a little more room to grow. It may also stop once it has been in your system for a month or so.

Can I change in flow make it spray all over the place?

Yes, you want to avoid having flow hitting corals from close range.

I do believe my colony is STNing at the tips. Should I cut these tips off? Also, I wonder what caused it?

Parameters are all good. Other SPS are fine, my purple acro is actually growing.

    Any ideas?

Pics would help. If your pump was close and directly blasting the coral that could be the problem.

Could this be an area of new growth ?

I would try different placement and a host of other things.

Here are some pics. The flow has been the same since I got it with no sliming at all which is why I'm leaning towards it not being that. But could be.

Ok I see healthy corals. With new growth.

I would just try new placement if it continues sliming. And that is about it.

    Nice corals Claic :)
