48 old saltwater tank reconverted to a planted freshwater.

could use some help with the plant, i got it for free from my LFS, a small little black bulb when i got it. i recently moved it to its current position and the thing has roots almost half the length of my tank.
iv been told half a dozen times the name but it just wont stick to me....

......you have no idea how happy i am to see it bloom....

Tank looks great and the plant is a Tiger Lily. Congrats on it trying to flower.

do you know of a way to trim the leaves so the stay in the water? im clearly not going to do that now as it blooms but once the flowering is over it could be interesting to know, seeing as the large leaves do block out a lot of light for the plants beneath them.

You need to remove the leaves that reach the surface and keep doing it until they stop.
