I just read a story of a guy who bred a maroon and occellaris clown together. I didn't believe it at first either, but I guess it's true. I wonder if the spawn of the two will be infertile like other things in nature. ie: the mule, the liger etc.

Pretty amazing. I hope I am at least as successful when things start happening for me.

I hope I did that link think right.

I really dont find it amazing at all. Just someone trying to play God of some sort. We should be preserving the natural sea life and not messing with it like the movie, "The Island of Dr. Moreau". After the sea life population is stable and safe, then maybe we can create hybrids...

The sea life population is not stable and safe right now?

Anyways, the guy in the artice says that it just happened in his show tank. He had an occellaris and a maroon that got along and he set up other clowns for breeding in breeding tanks and poof, it was the clowns in the show tank that went to breeding.

And to close, in my opinion, I think any captive breeding project, no matter how dumb or God complexed it may be in the eyes of whoever, should be applauded. I hear so many people whining and crying about what's happening in this world to environments and creatures, but most of those whiners and cryers don't do a darned thing but sit on their butts and whine and cry. Or march somewhere and then sit and whine and cry. I got a suggestion: start a captive propogation system, or a fish hatchery, or do what the great Doug Seus did and let the animals provide for themselves. Because of "Bart" the bear, Doug has been able to set up Grizzly habitat with the money that Bart earned by making movies that will not be touched, or developed. There are solutions counter to being an activist and passing legislation. DO SOMETHING. One last thing. There are people out there, that believe we as people shouldn't have any physical interaction with "wildlife" (in all actuality they mean ALL ANIMALS and creatures) and that owning an aquarium or a dog or a cat is your pathetic act at playing God.
