It is a dry heat, yeah right !
It's very difficult to contribute to this topic without bringing politics or conflicting ideals to the discussion.

Reading the link is the crucial part, posting ideologies based on an individual political or theological views will only get this thread closed.

Out of respect for Trent lets leave politics out of it.

Does the Australian government back this project? Or are they against it? I'm confused there.....

This is what is hanging me up. I don't think anyone can dredge the Great Barrier reef.. I'm sure they can want to and plan to, but I don't believe they would ever actually get the go ahead.

What do we suggest as an alternative plan?

They have 12 ports in the Great Barrier Reef region. This isn't a novel idea in these parts. Seems like it's def more than want, then plan, then drop situation.

It's really easy to sign a partition that really doesn't offer much information. If we think this can indeed stop funding, we owe it to ourselves as responsible adults to look into all the sides of that which we sign.

    I don't understand something.

The partition was put forth to gain enough signatures to try and convince Aurizon to withdraw investment backing? I don't know if that's something they would want to do in light of their business......

"Aurizon Holdings Limited (AZJ) is a rail freight operator company. The principal activities are integrated heavy haul freight railway operator; rail transporter of coal from mine to port for export markets; bulk, general and containerised freight; and large-scale rail service activities. AZJ has three operation segments including Coal, Freight, and Network".

That assumption would mean their (Australian) politics, governmentaly, are intentionally steering social media toward the BGR for the purpose of tourism and marketing attention.
