What do you people think of this filter as an occasional water polishing filter, after things get stirred up and I can hardly see anything?

Or, I was also thinking of using it for gravel cleaning. I'm not a reef keeper though, this will in fact be used for freshwater aquarium, but I still thought that the folks here might have experience with the Magnum. It's a bit pricey, but I've been waiting to buy it for more than a year now.

I used to have one just for polishing the water. It works great for that.

I wouldn't use it to clean your gravel a lot though unless you have a lot of extra filters for it. That will tap it out quick. Just use a siphon and bucket for that.

Thanks for joining the forum! See you around.... ;D

I have one hooked up to my 135gal reef. I mainly use it after I siphon my sand and do a water change since things are stirred up. It does work great for this. On a freshwater system you should be ok for the mechanical filtration part. Filters are a little pricey but they do a good job, I haven't quite figured out how to thoroughly clean one rather than replacing it though.

Ran one on my 90 gal. I thought it worked great.
