Sorry PC, I think we can figure a way for you to get a sump.. At the expense of your fish..

    thanks
i just wish i had a different stand, if i had another stand id be able to get a sump, even if i were to get a sump there would be no way to get a skimmer in there, and i dont have the room to put a sump next to the tank or anything like that. I just wish my damn chromis was the one who got caught in the skimmer.

i've decided my new fish is going to be a red margin fairy wrasse. But my only problem is that its another expensive fish, and ive lost all my expensive fish during freak accidents. But im going to wait a little while before i get it

oh and i had to clean out my collection cup and it had a lot fish flesh in there, really nasty :(

About a year ago one of my clown fish got sucked into my filter and i noticed he was gone for about the day. Finally i went looking and found him in the tube, he was still alive and well.

PC-Sorry about your fish. I don't know if you recall. I have the same aquarium/stand as you. I hate the look of everything inside the tank. So I finally broke down and building a 10 gallon sump that will sit on the side of my tank rather than inside the stand. I built a storage chest to house the 10 gallon sump and drill holes back for the intake and return. Also planning on drilling some venting holes to help with oxygen exchange. Something like this will work if you dont feel like making one link. You just have to make sure your sump skimmer will fit (height wise).

My thread on my sump build here.
