the only chaeto ive found so far was at a place in schaumburg. they charged me $5.99 for a ball of it, but it was full of aiptasia so i threw it out :(

im in algonquin. ill need chaeto when my fuge is up and am willing to pay whomever is nearby with aiptasia-free chaeto lol. or i might just get it from reefcleaners.org

Chaeto, as well as other macro algae and mangroves, suck nutrients out of your system, aka lower your nitrates. Chaeto grows relatively fast and uses up your nutrients before nuisance algae gets a chance to use it.
