How often do you put your hands in your system/water?

Like above, unless I KNOW I have something on my hands in a large quantity, I never think twice about not washing my hands before they go in one of my three tanks in my system.
Unless I'm gone, this is usually daily, and/or multiple times a day.

I really rarelly run any GAC, that's still doing anything anyways as I only change it a few times a year.
I still use gloves on every patient I see at work however- kind of an industry standard.
Formerly I was first assist for over 10 years in the OR, and of course crbbed in religiously- again, an industry standard. A few years ago I briefly worked in the OR again and they no longer do the 5 + minute scrubs- but use an antibacterial solution, wipe it on, gown and glove, good to go.

Unless I have some toxic residue on your hands like suntan or repellent,
I don't even bother washing my hands.

AND- I'm sorry to say, but IMH, EO-

using Vodka is a waste or good, (or cheap) vodka! ;-)

 

I'm in my tank daily. I try to make sure my hands are clean. The only time I don't touch the tank is after work. Garage doors=grease, grease=bad for my reef

 

Perhaps my concern comes from years now of having nanos, dilution factor greatly reduced. You guys have big and in Todd's case huge tanks.

Back in the 90's there was a hobbyist book with an image of a hand in the aquarium the author encouraged hobbyist to keep the hand out of the tank as able and appropriate, perhaps it just stuck with me. I do however think that you do cause stress when one actually handles corals. Any who as is the norm I am not representative of the general consensus.

It's been 4 days already? ok.... I definitely don't get into my tank as much as I used to. In fact, since this thread, I can think of one time my hand went into tank, it's cause I got new frags... haha

did I wash my hands? It was 1:30am and I smelled of Wisconsin when I got home. You tell me!

Didn't I just read about you moving coral and removing other things from your tank?

I didn't make it a day before my hand was in my tank replacing my filter sock. I usually do try to atleast rinse my hands off with water before I stick them in.

 

Nope hands have not gone in since Thursday night. I advertised my Haddoni and Urchin for free on RC on Tues and by Thurs I had takers for both, gone, good bye.

I do have to clean my foam and add some more Phosban and new charcoal but all my corals are pretty much glued down with no inverts to move them or knock them over and no tinkering other than to dose.

 

I'll also add that I performed a 20g (Corailline, that's what 96%? hehe) water change and didn't even remove the net of the DT. I have put in the algae grazer and fed some food, but no hands in the display.

I don't know how long I can hold off... I took out my magfloat and the glass is getting dirty. yikes.
