Help my clown :( -- Updated

I just noticed my favorite fish has a very swollen left eye. He ate well tonight but obviously this looks really bad! I need advice in IDing the disease and treatment please. Thank you in advance.

It is called Pop eye.

Usually it is a secondary symptom of another problem.

Common causes are physical injury and decline in water conditions.

In most cases it resolves when water quality is improved or the injury heals, sometimes a bacterial infection sets in. Look at Melafix, and Selcon to assist you.

Poor guy.

Water conditions are testing ideal. Are Melafix and Selcon antibiotics?

 

Selcon is a food enhancer with HUFA, and Melafix you should google as it's not an antibiotic but has bacterial and fungal fighting properties.

 

Went to the LFS and got the Melafix. Starting treatment this afternoon. 7 days with no skimming or carbon will be tough but hopefully will save the clown. Thanks for the advice Corailline.
