clams not liking LED is untrue..........HOWEVER depends on the set up and the amount of light leds put out.

What more then likely happened is the clam was shocked from the change of lighting. Did you acclimate to the new light? Best thing to do when ever you add a new light (or even change the bulbs on your existing fixture) is bump back the lighting time way back and gradually increase it over a week or so.

Unfortunately it doesnt look very healthy, retracted back and siphon way open. Did something possibly nip at the clam?

It is weird with clams, I had a very large clam (probably 10-12 inches) that was doing great that i had for many years. One day I woke up and looked like yours. Never could find out what happened to it and was very frustrating. No pyramid snails, nothing.

Were you feeding phyto any? While most of the nutrients are derived from the light in a clam your size, i did attend a talk from Randy Reed from Reef Nutrition that stated even larger clams still need phyto. (which i was dosing anyway........) But just a thought

    sorry for your clam

I don't know, my maxima was doing the same exact thing, a 30 minute freshwater dip and within 2 days back to normal for me. Good luck, and yes, as per our PM's, mine hated the switch to led for a bit until they got used to them, now no worries! Good luck on your little guy!
