Well, at least it seems to not be dying, hopefully it will recover and do very well in your tank.

    Hey Kacy,
My new crocea is doing the same thing for the past couple days.
How is it working out for you? Did it open back up like normal?

Ill speak for kacy until she gets online next.

I think her one fish was irritating the clam and picking at it. If i remember correctly, she eventually lost this one (cant say for 100% positive tho?)
But IME if a clam closes up for a few days it just might be mad at something. make sure nothing is excessively bothering it and hope for the best. Usually the only time the close is when something is picking on them

    Hi, Thanks Dingo.

This one did eventually die. No fish were picking at it, so I think it just died because it was tiny and tiny clams don't do well.

The clam that you're thinking of Trent was my big maxima that my tailspot blenny killed.

Hummm. Sorry to hear about your clams Tracy and thanks for the response.
well this is my first attempt with a clam.
It wasn't footed before and I had it on the sand bed. I took a piece of clay tile today and put him on that. Tonight, I noticed that he had opened up a bit but not much but that was only after lights out. Hopefully he anchors himself to the tile and settles in properly.
