    Thanks for the encouragement. There are times when I get so frustrated. It seems just when I feel I'm getting it under control more pops up somewhere else. I have the front of the tank looking pretty good. however I noticed from the reflection on the back side that I still have some work to do. I agree too that it is probably the water. I've been having to buy my r/o water lately. It's been so cold here {north west NJ} that my r/o is just a trickle.

    I am getting some hair algae on my LR, but so far none on the glass. Will be doing a water change tomorrow and clean the rock off.

    That's what I've had to do. Pull the rock and scrub with a toothbrush. I also use a "Pickle spear" to get the smaller algae out of the crevices. I attach the spear to the end of my syphon so as I pick off the algae it gets immediately sucked up. I used to have to clean the algae off somewhere every day. Now I'm down to every 3 days. I'll be happy with once a week.
