So I started with one.. and I assume it floated into my Mp10 and turned into 10, then 20, then 50.

Now my 40g probably has over 100 green mushrooms on every rock and even on the glass.

It looked cool at first, but they've taken all the real estate, and are blocking the holes in the rock where my blenny likes to live

When I try to pull one out, the slimey bugger just slips out of my hand and retracts into a tiny ball.

How do you pro's get these slippery suckers out of the tank without causing too much trouble, or shredding them into 10 more new mushrooms?

    Thanks 3reef!

Picture above is a stock photo from the interwebs.

When I get home Saturday I'll snap a pic and show you all the real madness.

Its worse than anything I've ever seen

try starving it from light, the rocks you can remove take them out cut as close as you can to the base with a razor blade and sell them/trade them off

That wont work.. I have Euphyllia sp. and rose anemone in my tank.

The mushrooms would surely out last the other corals if I tried starving them of light

Razor blade near the base should do it.

Manual removal is probably the best option at this point.

sorry i was unclear, i didnt mean to turn off the light in all your tank (though clearly easier) but rather cover the mushroom colonies you wish to eliminate....but yeah razor at base (REALLY BASE) is your best bet...

Sounds like one of the public aquarium tanks here. Only thing in the tank is large red mushrooms covering every square inch.
