I have had a balloon molly for 2 weeks now and all the sudden sometimes the molly goes vertical (head up)!?

He is able to easily come horizontal again (normal). He still is eager to eat and it doesn't look like he has swim bladder disease. But just in case I gave him a pea for swim bladder. It didn't seem to help. Also I did a 50% water change and I have the API Freshwater test-kit and everything measures perfect. He is still relatively active, I think it's a HE. I used melafix, Proper PH 7.5, quick start, and stress coat. I just put a new filter in. The aquarium is an Eclipse 12. Until, now he was fine. I will keep u posted. It is a 12 Gallon tank. Any help would be appreciated.
All the other fish appear fine BTW. I feed the fish twice a day and will now only feed them once I think.
He only goes vertical for a few seconds.
It happens infrequently. Sorry for all the added details.
It looks like he has scratch marks on its..... butt. For a lack of a better word. He has stopped going horizontal now but it looks like his skin is peeling more. I also tried adding salt. I added a picture. Sorry, in the picture he is going to the bathroom. Now its fins are starting to slightly peel too.

It could be constipated or worse it could have dropsy. Is it defecating??I would stop feeding it.Constipation can put pressure on the swim bladder which may be the reason it is having trouble swimming.:-/

It is swimming better and it is defecating. I looked at pictures of dropsy and it really doesn't look like it. It is not any fatter, for a lack of a better word, than before. Did you see the picture I posted. If that looks like dropsy please write me back and tell me what to do. The picture isn't great (sorry) but something is peeling off the balloon molly. Now the fish just isn't as active but still really enjoys eating. Thanks. P.S. your link doesn't work.

It looks like it may have some fungus on the underbelly.

If its defecating it probably isn't an intestinal blockage or the blockage has cleared itself. :-/

As I said it is stabilized now but now the slime coat is coming off and the fins are starting to disintegrate. I think its fin rot. Any treatment for this? Thanks
