Wow since when did 3reef become a pissing contest. Ok mistakes were done and corrective actions were taken. Let's stop beating people up.

Listen we ALL have and will continue to make mistakes. The day we don't we're underground. As long as we learn that's what is important.

On the second note, glad your heading in the right direction.

maybe look into some prime to help with the ammonia as well in your QT, it doesn't remove the ammonia but will make it into a non toxic form for your fish/inverts until it is removed from the tank with a WC

+ 1 alright some people have had the luck to have 0 mistakes (SO FAR) everyone will make a mistake whether it be major or minor, no one is perfect and comfortability is the worse thing to have since in those cases people tend to get a bit sloppy and this does not only count for tanks this is everything in general. A few points were brought up and research+prevention is the best thing to do but the OP didn't do it well enough and turned to us for help and I'm sure he will do better in the future to not make more mistakes by being misinformed. Mistakes aren't the worse thing either though, if no one ever made them in the first place how would we learn from them. So I'll end my rant now and get back to the issue, You seem top be heading in the right direction just keep with it and be patient all will work out.

Devastated here. Lost everything over night. Everything passed. I used some Prime but I guess it was too late. They were breathing heavy last night, but still eating. This morning, all had perished.

I guess I'm starting from scratch as far as livestock goes at this point. Thank you to everyone who helped or tried to help. This is a great forum. I learned a lot of disappointing lessons this last week.

sorry to hear your losses :( but if you are going to start from scratch, out of recommendation I would steer clear from tangs even baby ones because they are very hard fish to maintain in a system that small and will need much larger tanks as adults. When you are ready to restock post up here and people will help with recommended fish for that size and make sure to add slowly maybe 1 fish every 2 weeks to a month depending on how your tank handles it...if there is any ammonia spike in the tank while adding give it atleast a month before adding more fish, if not you could probably get away with 1 per every 2-3 weeks but the first 2 fish i would put a month a part with an exception like if you're adding 2 juvenile clowns at the same time
