I picked up a duncan last week, a pc that broke off the old owners main colony. It had been sitting at the bottom of his tank.

It is doing REALLY well right now and I want to attach it to a pc of rock for a permanent home however it started sprouting another head on the bottom. How/where do I now mount from? Do I just slice off the bottom head?

Bumping in hopes of figuring out how to mount it. It is running out of room and growing quickly. With the head growing out the bottom i am not sure what to do.

The problem is he keeps falling so I have to mount it. Currently the bottom has a head sprouting so how do I mount?

I can't see the picture so I don't know if this will work or not but, are you able to mount it so the heads are on the sides instead of one up and one down? If so it will end up growing together as it gets larger.

I do not believe that will work due to the way it is growing. Can you just chop a head off and mount over that spot?

Wedge it between a couple rocks so that it doesnt fall over. I wouldnt frag it. Let the poor thing grow.

I agree with civiccars. If you frag it, it might stress and die. it's too young. Let it grow. it should harden for a few weeks. Then it's safer to frag.

But then again, by a few weeks you might have another head pop up :D

My Duncan sprouted 5 heads within 3 weeks of getting it, So i agree it might have more heads by then.

Can you post a picture where we can see the lower, new head?
