I have a 4 inch discus who is a good think healthy one he is pretty much the boss of the tank but about a month ago he suddenly appeared to have a swim bladder problem and as a result showed struggle to stay up right in the water column and would lay on its side for the majority of the day/night. now throughout all of this and for the last month he has not gotten better or worse nor lost condition or being picked on, he is still the boss of the tank and eats agressivley.

i have tried feeding peas and brine shrimp, adding salt, melafix, prime (water conditioner)

i use RO water in all of my water changes
all other fish inc discus are acting and eating normally
water quality is all fine and temp is kept at 86

any ideas of cures for this guy?

There is a great article entitled Understanding Swim Bladder Problems by Robin & Ron Futrell on the internet where they tell you how to cure swim bladder problems naturally. It is worth checking out. How's the fish?

OK so this discus has been like this now for about 3 months and again not getting any better of worse.
ive tried all different treatments including feeding peas and brine shrimp, adding salt, melafix, prime (water conditioner), pima fix and even colloidial silve!

obviously not all at once and each over a course of a couple of week with regular water changes.

so after all of this the discus still hasnt recovered nor has it got worse or lost condition!?

so anyone heard of this or have any advice to fix him? its all very confusing

Did you check out the swim bladder article that I mentioned. They are using the treatment on Discus. Maybe you could email them and they would have a suggestion for you...or like NickD stated...check out the SimplyDiscus message board.
