Thanks to Reefnjunkie for suggesting this thread! His dendro is amazing - I'm sure he'll post a pic of it (or just check out his avatar). I've had a dendro for months now - it started out doing really well, then one night got "unearthed" by something and ended up face down in the sand bed. I've been moving it around, medium light, low light, medium flow, low flow, etc. It comes out beautifully at night (it thinks it's a sun polyp) and target feeds great (mysis, Rod's food, krill). Tank parameters are good, corals are growing well. I dose with calcium about twice a week and calcium levels are good. Maybe I'm just inpatient, but I want this darned thing to open up in the daytime like it used to! Peredhil, I expect you to chime in here too! Anybody have any suggestions??

Pic of my dendro (which will look pitiful next to Reefnjunkie's pic)

Boy I'm glad you started the thread I would have started one in a whole differnt spot-
Mom and I had exchanged a few emails regarding what lighting etc and we thought a thread for those who owned Dendros would be good to see what the rest of Ya'll are doin.

I feed mine Spirulina Brine, Mysis, I add cyclopeze to the tank, as well I add Phyto Feast and Oyster Feast-these last two are made by "reef nutrition".

It gets fed about every other to every 3rd day

My Params in the tank are CA-450,KH-11,MG-1300,NO3-2,PO4-.05,SG 1.025

I dose Strontium&Molybenum by Kent, every 4th day (or so-LOL) Iodine (Tech-I) by Kent weekly, Coral Vite by Kent weekly-Those doses are as the bottle directs.

I mention the levels and feeding/supplements as that may have something to do with it.

Mine is typically open most of the entire day-and when the Halides kick off it is open the entire time. The area where it is located I would have to say has a pretty good amount of flow, I have one of my Vortechs pretty close and its tenticles are really moving at times, I have it set on the Lagoon setting I believe-have to check on that.

I would say I have had mine for almost 2 and when I got it it had 3 prounced heads with a small 4th starting, I'm LUCKY because it has what I can say is 4 now, with about 12-14 little starts coming

Anyway those who own them please jump in, and more mportantly PICS PICS PICS

    Cant wait to see more-

I Got to go- Fed-Ex has just shown with my most recent order of corals and what was described as an "eye popping" Blue Ultra Maxima.

    WOO HOO-time to acclimate:grinthumbs:

That is an amazing looking coral. Same family as a duncan? look pretty close to a duncan but that is definitely more colorful.

I love duncans, even if they make my sun polyps look like midgets. I'll def pick up some of these one of these days, but i'm not paying anywhere near what retail LFS's are charging.

    edit: duncans = dendros . . . my bad.
