Make new saltwater for your hopsital tank! then keep making it to deal with the ammonia spike!

Well not sure of your salt water mixing situation but her's what i would do! Get a 10 gallon for your hopsital tank and label it as such so you don't use it for tank water and introduce bad medicine to your DT!

Then I'd buy 2 20G or 2 big rubbermaid trashcans for your RODI water! 1 to store fresh RODI water in and nothing else and 2 for misxing your new slatwater! This allows for an emergency supply of water when needed in situations like this!;) Its about a $25 investment to save your a55 especially when ya have alot of coral in your tank, that $25 will be well worth it! plus the extra heater and pump for when yours breaks or goes down! Backups are great!

hope your clown makes it bro! keep asking if ya need anything!

reading this thread you have a few problems going on.
Step 1 Slow Down, The key to success in this hobby is go slow, I read in your other thread you added both those tangs at once.

After reading your info you only have 75 lbs of live rock, in a 90g plus a sump. Thats is not enough Live Rock to have enough of a fighting chance at your tank, also what is your sand band? I'm wondering if it is your filtration that brought this on to your clown. I suspect adding those two tangs at once, when you only had 2 clowns has done a serious shock tto your system, and i dont think your filtration can keep up. Just my 2 Cents.

Get the QT tank set up soon. As per a small tote, i disagree. The reason you are going to need to be sticking your tangs in there soon once they get ich(from being in only a 90g tank). And a small tote will not be enough space for a four inch blue tang as you described, So i would recommend getting a 30g at least to use as a good Qt for long term. AVOID WALMART, do not waste your money at stores that do not specialize in this hobby because you will end up buying that equipment twice.

For the brookynella treatment, I had that before and i couldn't find a formalin medicine, I used a multi parasytic medidcine that fought it off well. It was called Ich X, it treated ich, trichodiniasis, velvet, and saprolegniasis. Stuff worked great for me.

I agree to avoid walmart to a degree, but when its an emergency where hours count, are ya gonna avoid it because its not a fish store, and why pay LFS money for water holding containers? $8 for a 18 gallon tote verse a 20 gallon aquarium? If ya have the cash to burn I guess!

But a QT isn't gonna be any type of a solution for those 2 tangs regardless of its size!
