I should've sent you some of my tap water. I can have that much algae in 3 days! <jk> :D

Glad to see it's finally starting for you. Can't wait to see the results from this round.

should have bit the bullet earlier and abused it more - removing the live corals was key for me, all the time they where in there, I wanted to let things occur more naturally, now they are not, I can overfeed, over illimunate, ignore water changes, and top up daily with tap water

    Thanks Mr Bill

    Hey Vinny
I will be joining in on that thread in the very near future
got myself a HOB Reef Octopus reactor and intend to try bio pellets out on my 60 set up

Alright!!! Caught up! If the results repeat this time, I will attempt some kind of mod for my dual BRS reactor... there must be a way.

Steve, as always, buddy: great job and I'm very impressed with your dedication. Can't wait to see new results and compare them with the first ones.

    Thanks Magnus and Mikey

tanks still running and green/ redding up a bit , at the stage now of mixing and matching, swapping some water, and some pieces of rock etc to try and achieve uniformity across the 4 units

hopefully the tests can be re run within the next few weeks

Awesome, I am excited to see how the results pan out this time too. Have to say I am intrigued by the bio-pellet possibility. I am planning to start out my tank with the standard GFO/Carbon reactor route, but am getting more and more convinced that perhaps bio-pellets may be a better solution, although I must admit some trepidation about the bacterial imbalance issues I have heard of anecdotally. This thread, in conjunction with Vinny's thread about other peoples experiences is great to help learn more about the complexities these types of systems can introduce.

    Keep up the good work!

Great thread Steve...I was wondering if you had decided on running vinegar instead of the bio fuel. From my research it seems vodka has been replaced by vinegar due to long term usage showing algae growth from vodka, this has not been the case with vinegar. I currently use bio pellets and dose vinegar in my ATO to get a bit more saturation from my kalk...I have thought about switching from bio pellets to vinegar since I personally have not seen much from the bio pellets in my system.

    Thanks again for doing this!!
