We finally have a place to call home. Matt was willing to set up a sub-forum for us to use here.

Please help us get Mountain State Marine & Reef Society off the ground. We have people on facebook, but not many members yet.

MSMRS.ORG (Mountain State Marine & Reef Society)is a non-profit organization whose membership consists of individuals from the North Central West Virginia area and beyond. MSMRS is currently planned to be run by an elected board of directors, who will donate a lot of time and effort into making the club better for it’s members. MSMRS was originally founded in September 2011 with the hope of bringing together the hobbyist of West Virginia for advancement of aqua-culture in the area.

Just wandering about starting up a new club, a few fellow reefers and myself are interested in starting one up in Southern WV (Bluefield). We will be meeting the 4th of Feb. to discuss naming and how to run the club. (officers, dues, meetings etc.) Any ideas that may help us get started?

Hey sorry I didnt get a email that you posted. If you have a few people together already sit down and think about what you want from the club and make a charter to go by. Make a website or get a forum started on one of the bigger site like this. Put some flyers out. Hardest thing I have found so far is getting people involved to start out. The promblem in this state is there has been nothing here for the hobby and the people are spread out over the web and its hard to get them into one place. ask you lfs for support if they get behind you thats half the battle, but some are against club thing that it will hurt their business somehow. If I can help you out any let me know I would be glad to lend a hand to a fellow hobbyist. Facebook is also a great tool toi get your word out friends of friends goes along way
