You're doing the best thing right now. Just keep the tank stable with good water quality and soak its food in garlic. Taking it out, putting it in a quarantine tank, and treating with copper would just stress it out more. Others may suggest that you DO treat it with copper, but I would stick with what you are doing. Are there any other fish in the tank? Inverts? Coral?

While you are dealing with ich, if you are not willing to have a quarantine tank (QT), and use copper, then....

from Marine Ich/Cryptocaryon irritans - A Discussion of this Parasite and the Treatment Options Available, Part I by Steven Pro - Reefkeeping.com

hyposalinity and more frequent water changes. Now that you have it on one of your fish, the parasite host (your tang) will pass it on if the parasite manages to strengthen and then move on to your water looking for another host.

Also watch water temps and stress. You didn't provide a lot of details about conditions before the fish started to show ich. More information to the point of too much will help the wonderful friends on 3REEF help you get through this concern.

    Best of luck!

I agree, just keep feeding, as long as he is eating and such he has the best chance to fight it off. You could quarantine and treat with meds but I agree that the additional stress now may not be good for him and cause more harm.

Yep, agreed with above. Make sure Nori is available also.
Also double check water temperature and NO3,2 and Ammonia.
    Is this a new fish?
BTW this is very common for Hippos... Mine has had it and I pretty much didn't do anything. The stress of the move is usually what brings it out.

Whether the other fish have spots or not..they have it too..believe me. That's another reason that quarantining isn't the best solution. You would have to treat all of your fish and let your tank sit without fish in it for 8 weeks to let the parasites in the water die off. Fish/shrimp may "clean" each other, but that is really ineffective when you look at the big picture. Ich parasites are like fleas. If you see one cyst on the fish..there are more than likely hundreds of more parasites.
