Ok first the disclaimer, the original design is not my own but a version of it is what I use.
    parts list:
A container I have used 5 gal jugs, 2 gal jugs and am currently using 2 liter bottles with lid.
An airpump- the larger the container the larger the pump needed.
    airline tubing
    airline control valve
rigid airline tubing the same size diameter used in uplift tubes for ug filters.
    Silicone
Timer ( may be optional (explain in discussion)

first drill 2 holes in lid of container holes should be just large enough for rigid tubing.
cut 1 piece of tubing 3 inches long
test fit another piece of tubing so that it hangs just above bottom of container but sticks out about 1 inch through the top.
insert both tubes into lid and silcone into place. let set. (sidenote the last couple of times the holes have been tight enough to not need silicone)
install one piece of airline tubing to the pump and to the short pice of rigid tubing in the lid.
install the other airline tube to longer piece of rigid tubing, place airvalve on the end.
fill container with solution or topoff water.
place tube with airline valve into sump hanging it above the water line.
plug pump in and adjust valve to drip rate desired.
now here comes the optional timer you can ste this up to dose at anytime of the day with a timer I use the timer on the lights to dose kalk throughout the day in my top off water. some people like to dose at night so a separate timer is needed.
    Any questions let me know
    Hope you enjoy!
    Thanks,
    Phil

Here is my Auto top off setup.

This way you will not have to pressurize the bottle and can use a home depot bucket.
I use a rio 600 or 800 pump that cost 20 bucks which is about the same for the air pump.
The float switch was 14 bucks from ebay and he is now only selling the switch without the extension cord already wired.
As stated in another post I need to replace the float switch and priced them at 7 bucks and then add shipping. Well I just got 4 of these float switches for 20 bucks.  ;)

You can get these quick disconnects at Home depot now.
I used 3/8 inch rigid tubing with 2 90 degree elbows.
This system works great when working as I said I need a new float.
Keeping a level water line in the sump helps the skimmer be more efficient.
