    I had success with an emerald crab - but I had tried them before without success.....it seems to be up to each individual whether they'll go after the bubble algae.

    seahare, if you can keep it alive. they'll eat any algae really but the challenge is keeping them alive in the first period of introduction to the tank. I've had my emeralds for a while and they will attack some algae mainly bubble but, it's a win lose thing for me. I have no bubble algea but in turn they don't eat this thick green matted ball algea.
