I would still try to figure out whats causing those important alk swings, I dose foundation B to keep my levels in check but you should not see such an important drop

Alk is tough to maintain in my opinion. It always seems to be the culprit when I have things go south in my tank. I am a fan of kent marine super buffer to help when my alk falls too low.

Alk is the one thing I constantly try to make sure it doesn't swing to much. The reef requires morning and night doses to maintain the level the reef tank likes. I've lost plenty to alk swings so now I try to be diligent with testing and dosing. Like swiss said, need to find out why you have such a large depletion of alk.

I'm trying to figure it out but I have only a little over a year in experience so I'm at the drawing table.... I will have to do more reading and figure out what is making these swings?

start by getting new test kits you might simply be getting false readings. do you know what your daily alk depletion is? youll need to know this to effectively dose alk supplements

Be patient cody. I am by no means an expert on alk but my mistakes have taught me what to do and how to fix it. You too will get there.

I know what it uses in 3 days... I test every 3 days and dose as needed. I am new to dosing and I surly don't want to over dose. My dosage is also very small amounts and slowly getting more. I'm running with the idea of it's always easier to add more than take out.. My ALK swing is about 2 dkh and cal is about 10ppm every three days.
