I have two RBTA and a mini maxi they have been doing great until yesterday. One of my rose bubbles is now in the back of a rock hiding in the shadows and it keeps swelling and deflating? The other rose and mini maxi are fine... It has been happy for as long as o got it it split about 2 months ago and has been in good health. I'm not sure what the deal? Is this normal?

I haven't added anything new lately and actually just did a water change.... I wash my hands before put them in there... It moved around for about half a day and then went back there and just stayed. And my KH is 7 dkh... It's low but I always struggle with it it...

What are you using to test you alk cody? Is there a LFS close to double check the alk? If theres a big swing then it will eventually cause issues. I test new saltwater when I make it, just one bucket, and the coral pro always comes back at 12.5 alk at 35ppt salinty using salifert. Depending on how much you change out I can't see what would suck your alk down so drastically. Corailline algae will deplete some alk but 7 is pretty low.

Well i run carbon 24/7 and a nice size bag for my tank. I use a simple test api for this and it's normally pretty spot on. I say that because when I dose ALK and test the next day it follows it up. Crazy thing though, when I came home today Ben is back out and loving life? Maybe it wanted to take a break? Lol.... My female clown missed her... She stayed in her all day...

I honestly wouldn't depend on API for anything but ammonia and nitrite. Just because it goes up on the reading after you dose doesn't mean what your reading is accurate. Invest in a salifert alk test. That's all I use now and it's extremely easy to perform the test and accurate as well. Even the mag and calcium are a breeze compared to the red sea tests I used before salifert. Nems are know for inflating/deflating so unless it's tucked away for multiple days I wouldn't worry.

I think this is just normal odd behavior of a RBTA.
Cody, can you get us a picture?
