Just wondering what a safe difference in Alkalinity between the tank and the change water would be? I'm going to change 10G in my 75G and made a little mistake when adding buffer to the replacement water.

    Thanks
    Jason

7 dKH in the Tank and 14dKH in the change water. I really messed up I used the amount of buffer for 75G in 10G of water. No prob though it's all worked out. I dumped enough water and topped up with RO/DI. Just finished a long over due water change.

Is dkh the same as alk?Cuz I use a sea chem test for alk and it says it should be between 4-6 meg/l mine came out at a 4.
I dose every day with 30cc each of b- ionic (it's a two part supplment) and twice a week with two capfuls of sea chem reef calcium should I try to raise my alk more?

4 meg/l is equal to 11.2dKH. That's in the range and quite good. It's like measuring distance in Km or miles basically.

    1 dKH is equal to 2.8 meq/l

I'm getting this from Reef con pro. A great Aquarium management and log program.

Search google for it, there is a freeware version.
