I am starting to acclimate a frag and the water the frag is in has SG of 1.018.

Is there anything additional I should do for acclimation since the SG has that much of a difference? Mine is 1.024 at the moment.

hmm i think we will need more details. what frag are we talking about? if you can provide more parameters of the lfs vs your water thn that would be good. there are many schools of thought on acclimitation. my personal advice (and keep in mind i dont follow it myself) if you want to be safe, then the "drip acclimitation" is the best way and easily doable. "drip" the new frag for 1h increasing the drop flow every 15 mins and you should be good. however i just float my bags for 30 mins since i fear temp swings the most. but im no coral expert and a rather impatient person... 1.018 is pretty low though

Yeah I really have never dealt with that low of SG from a frag bag. Usually they are 1.021 and the SG swing is not that big. I know that SG increase it a lot harder on coral.

It is a no name Zoa. Are you thinking Alk or did you want other parameters?

zoas in general a pretty buff so you should be alright despite the other params. youre floating and adding cups of tank water? at 018 i think youre doing the right thing acclimiting. while you have it outside your tank thouroughly check for zoa eating nubibranch. would be a shame to go through all of this effort to easily introduce it to the tank only to have it eaten days later

I am going to do a lugols dip once i get the SG to my tank level right before introducing it. I hope that won't be too much with the SG change, but I will not chance bringing in parasites

As resolved as it is gonna get. Will put them in the shade for a bit and hopefully post a picture soon. They are blue and beautiful so hopefully there won't be any issues like I had with my Rastas.

Yeah I went to the LFS to buy some coral food and poked around and saw these things and couldn't leave the store without them. I really hope they do well.
