    I have used:
Xtra special -probably a good product but you really have to be dedicated to keep a proper routine.
    b ionic- no change
vitalizer- corals love it but I feel funks my water if you use it all the time. So basically it's pointless for me.
    cyano clean -no change
    zeo zyme -no change
coral snow- probably does make water clearer.
    aminos
    coral booster
k balance- just don't need it with my calcium reactor
iodide- maybe necessary if not a water changer type person.
Flatworm stop.. good for corals.. does increase slime but still a waste of money.
I have an unopened bottle of spur I haven't used yet. I hear good things but it sound dangerous if not used properly.
Some of these probably work to a certain extent if you are aggressive enough but they also feed bad things. Sometimes I can tell a day after that it made my cotton candy algae worse. aminos, extra , vitalizer specifically. It also makes the routine a lot more complicated for turning off carbon and/or skimmer remembering to turn it back on.

    I do use :
Zeobak and zeo start and zeolites which I will continue to use. I really like the stones.

The biggest thing that helps my color lately is aggressive effort of detritus removal/ vacuuming /using powerhead all around my rocks/filter socks/skimming..and water changes/good carbon.

Maybe worth a mention I use extra coarse carib sea calcium reactor media that has a near perfect balance of Calcium/alk/mag/ potassium and strontium and who knows what other minor elements. I use a very small amount of zeomag.

The people at reef builders use a weekly dose of amino acid supplements (acro power) daily, and have reported no ill results other than increase color and polyp extension. :) if that isn't overdosing then I don't know what qualifies.

While I've never done zeo, I know people that have, and while it's cool to buy into that, I don't care for the pastel colors that result. I'd rather have my bright reds, greens, and blues, personally.

Oh come on peeps you not have to be in the for or against camp. And if you use zeovit products you do not have to end up with pastel coloration only. Attempting to fine tune the coloration of sps is pretty cool. It's just like the comment "well I do not like sticks". Scoly and Wellso are not corals I would actively pay for but I can sure appreciate them in someones else tanks (ummm cough reebbuilder, cough).

And Daniel yes, I used Brightwell Amino Acids a couple years back and each time ended up with Dino. Sometimes your feeding the zooxanthellae too much and you end up with brown corals, or zooxanthellae which are another type of dinoflagellate colonizing more than just coral tissue. I am not blaming the Brightwell product it just kept initiating a bloom because I did not recognize or have enough experience to see the warning signs of a possible issue.

I may not like to physically put my hands in the tank daily, but I play with the water chemistry daily big time. :p
